Dr. Timothy Lafferty holds a BS in Elementary Education from West Chester University, a MA in Educational Administration from Villanova University, and an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. He has established himself as a proactive, successful educator in many school district communities throughout Pennsylvania and New York. He has served in the roles of teacher and principal in both elementary and secondary schools, and most recently served as a District Superintendent. Dr. Lafferty is enthusiastic and energized about being a part of the staff and students of KCPS, and he looks forward to successfully contributing to the growth and academic achievement of all students.

Mrs. Wendy Kauffman joined Kaplan College Preparatory School in 2005. She has over 10 years of extensive experience running a busy office environment while continuing to uphold a high standard of customer service. Mrs. Kauffman also has extensive experience in admissions, registration, and marketing and believes strongly in the importance of customer service.

Mrs. Alison Cohen holds a BA in Economics from Oberlin College in Ohio and an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston. Mrs. Cohen has extensive experience in the private sector from her years working for large corporations such as Digital Equipment Corporation and Intel Corporation. She is enthusiastic about the new challenges and opportunities in the field of education. She especially enjoys analyzing student's backgrounds and helping them find the necessary courses to graduate with their high school diploma.

Mrs. Jennifer Stout holds a BS in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Central Florida. She eagerly embraced a variety of educational atmospheres over the last six years. From her experience at one of Orlando's toughest inner-city schools, she grew in her compassion and creativity when it came to reaching all students on their level. In addition, Mrs. Stout had the privilege of both teaching and authoring online math courses for virtual schools under the No Child Left Behind Act. She sees the benefits of online education because it offers flexibility and student accountability, allowing the student to mature and therefore be better prepared for life.
Felicia Taylor

Dr. Felicia Taylor holds a BS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Florida. After teaching High School math for more than 10 years, Dr. Taylor returned to graduate school to earn her PhD in Mathematics Education. She has taught as an Assistant professor at several accredited Universities as a Mathematics Methods Professor. She has served as a Project Manager and Math National Curriculum Coordinator. Dr. Taylor is a Trained Intel Master Teacher where training teachers how to integrate technology into their classrooms was her main goal. Her curriculum focus is on helping students develop skills needed to function in the real world-educating all students, accepting and taking them from where they are and helping them work towards being better prepared for life. In this arena, it is important to have an understanding of critical pedagogy and the ability to think outside the box. In keeping with the No Child Left Behind (NCLB), the online environment provides another avenue to reach out to students across the world. Dr. Taylor grew up in Miami, FL and in her spare time, she enjoys cross-training and spending time with family.
Charles Meehan

Mr. Charles Meehan holds a BA in Literature from Rhode Island College and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Miami. Meehan taught developmental writing, composition, literature, and creative writing for many years at Miami-Dade College, where he was also a supervisor at the Writing Center. Mr. Meehan has had poems published in numerous national literary journals. He is passionate about learning, language, and sharing with students the magic of the written word. Mr. Meehan believes that online education allows students to experience a plethora of diverse ideas in the global community.

Mrs. Michelle Youngberg holds an undergraduate degree in molecular biology and microbiology. Mrs. Youngberg previously worked as a laboratory microbiologist in the pharmaceutical industry but moved into public education after realizing it was her "calling." During her nine years in the public school system, she taught every level of student, from pre-kindergarten to Instructors. Mrs. Youngberg brings a diverse science and technology background and is thrilled to be a part of the KCPS team. She enjoys interacting with the diverse students on a daily basis, and watching their scientific knowledge grow.
Jessica Rosemurgy

Mrs. Jessica Rosemurgy holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. She is also a certified physics, chemistry, and physical science teacher. Mrs. Rosemurgy has taught these subjects for 11 years in private high schools, public high schools, and as a tutor. She is passionate about this subject matter and is thrilled to be a part of the KCPS educational team.

Mrs. Vanessa Leon holds a BA in Sociology from Florida International University. She joined Kaplan College Preparatory School in 2004 and is now the Social Studies Department Chair. Mrs. Leon is passionate about online education because it allows for a kind of flexibility unheard of in a traditional classroom and allows students to work at their own paces and schedules. Mrs. Leon is pursuing a master's degree in International Relations.

Mrs. Carolyn Fitzpatrick holds a BA in Secondary Education, a BA in History, and an MA in US History. Mrs. Fitzpatrick has taught at both public and private high schools in Florida, and has been a teaching assistant at Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern University. She believes that online education exposes students to a challenging liberal arts education while enabling them to pursue their own skills and passions. Mrs. Fitzpatrick's own passions include history, literature, cinema, and sociology.
Barbara Abell

Mrs. Barbara Abell has been teaching since 1965. Mrs. Abell has taught every level of student, from kindergarten to college. After ten years as a university administrator, she returned to the classroom and has taught French, English and English to Speakers of Other Languages. She then shifted her focus to the virtual classroom and has been a developer of online world languages courses. She loves the diversity of the students in her online classes and the challenge of working with students in the virtual environment.

Mrs. Kara Jacobs holds a BA in an interdepartmental major in Business and Spanish. Mrs. Jacobs has taught at a public high school in Florida for over three years. She believes that online education provides the students with flexible schedules in order for them to pursue other interests. Mrs. Jacobs's own interests include reading, swimming, spending time with her family and watching classic movies.
